TULSA, OKLAHOMA – The Foundation has chosen the DaySpring Villa as the first year benefactor of funds from the fans and supporters of Rodney Carrington. The DaySpring Villa is a domestic violence shelter that helps women in crisis transform their lives to emerge strong, independent and self-sufficient. Since 1995, DaySpring Villa has sheltered, clothed and fed more than 5,800 women and children who took the first step to leave an abusive relationship and set a positive new course for their future.

Through donations from live performances by Rodney Carrington in the US and Canada, the Foundation is funded. A campaign was launched in September of 2010, where the fans of Rodney donated $2 from each ticket sale to the Foundation. These generous contributions allow the Foundation to cover the administrative and operational expenses so that all contributions to the charity are maximized. From the inception of this program to date, contributions have totaled over $73,000. The next event to benefit the charity will be the Carrington Classic golf tournament to be held in May, 2011 in partnership with the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

Stand-up comedian, actor, singer and songwriter, Rodney Carrington and his wife, created a non-profit Foundation in the summer of 2010. The vision of the Rodney Carrington Foundation is to financially assist national and local organizations that need a helping hand. The Foundation’s mission is to measurably improve the lives of individuals, families and organizations by uniting the resources of donors, volunteers, agencies and the community.
